You don't ever want to be that guy, or person who can't close a deal in the sales office. If you are right now, that's ok. I'm going to share some of my knowledge, I'm a very successful inside sales agent. I am now an outside agent and new business owner. I do business with the top performing ISO'S in the country.
Here's my background: I started a portfolio selling merchant accounts in February 2013. That grew into a profitable shared residual revenue stream of over $60k a month. That portfolio is made of 540+ businesses. As of this year, the combined volume of credit card sales is over $300 million annually. That means over 90,000 transactions monthly. In 2018, I made $300k. Not bad for a GED education.
If you work in sales, you recognize the first line of this blog. How many of you have the guy in your sales office who tries to act like Alex Baldwin and his famous yelling at the new people "Put the coffee down now!"
Are you at home? Hating your job? I am happy you found this blog. You need to consider a merchant services sales job and stop punching that clock for that hourly wage and 50 cent raises at the end of the year.

Do not get me wrong, I am still a strong believer in that principal. I lived the experience that if you work hard at anything, you can create a life that you dream of. Now, I can cut that timeframe down for you.
Truth be told, I had run out of options when I walked onto the merchant services sales floor. I had blown many opportunities over the years including one with my mentor. I am so thankful he gave me another chance. That is where I started my portfolio.
Basic Cold Calling 101: When you think too much about what you are going to say, you are going to fuck it up. Just pick up the phone and start dialing. Pitch everyone and anyone who will listen to you. You are going to stumble and that is ok. Part of growing as, is failing. We all know that. Embrace it and listen to how you call.
Batting Practice: I would make 100-180 calls in a day when i first started. I sucked and got my teeth kicked in over the phone daily. How many of you out there listen to Gary V or other super star influencers on that level? They always talk about embracing the suck!! In baseball if you want to be a better hitter you need lots of batting practice PERIOD.
